The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates Post Group (EPG) to enable customers to charge and recharge their e-Dirham cards at any of the 115 post-offices in the UAE.

The MoU was signed at MoF's offices in Dubai by Mr. Ibrahim bin Karam, Chief Commercial Officer of EPG; Mr. Saeed Rashid Al Yateem, Assistant Undersecretary of Resources and Budget Sector at MoF; and Mr. Saif Al Shehhi, Senior Managing Director, UAE Government and VVIP Clients, National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD).

Commenting on the MoU, Mr. Ibrahim bin Karam said the new service supports EPG's vision to achieve excellence and innovation in the delivery of public services using advanced administrative and technical systems. The Group also offers superior follow-up methods for the benefit of customers. In addition, EPG also provides smart services through mobile apps as well as online services which attract 1.2 million visitors per month and enjoy 94 per cent satisfaction rate.

Al Yateem added: "The agreement allows Emirates Post to start selling, charging and re-charging e-Dirham system cards, which is a new value addition to the system. EPG follows a local and global geographical expansion policy and adopts electronic systems that can boost the progress of the e-Dirham system as a national project aimed at raising the efficiency of e- services as well as reducing operational costs."
