EPG presents ADCO with framed stamps on 50th Anniversary of 1st Crude Oil Shipment

Senior officials of Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Petroleum Operations Ltd. (ADCO) were presented with framed stamps issued by Emirates Post on the occasion of the 50 th anniversary of first crude oil shipment and 75 th anniversary of the oil concession agreement.

The officials expressed their appreciation of the stamps and hoped to continue the ongoing relationship with EPG in the field of stamps and other philatelic services as well as explore new projects in this area.

The stamps were issued by Emirates Post Group on April 2, 2015, on the occasion of the signing of the original concession agreement by the Ruler of Abu Dhabi on January 11, 1939, with Petroleum Development (Trucial Coast) Ltd. The first commercial oil discovery in the onshore concession was made at Bab field in 1960, and on December 14, 1963, crude oil shipment began from Jebel Dhanna Terminal.

ADCO continues to contribute to the development of Abu Dhabi and the UAE, in accordance with the visionary policies of the Rulers, whose concern has always been the prudent use of the wealth and seeking prosperity for future generations.
