Welcome to Emirates Philately Club

Stamps have often been described as 'the visiting cards of nations'. In many ways they reflect the history of their countries, convey the sensation of travel to faraway places, depict strange landscapes and tell of the customs of many races. Many stamp designs portray famous people, provide information on historical events and of the progress of science, and other times tell us about art and architecture.

Stamps of the UAE depict important subjects such as heritage, culture, environment protection, marine and wildlife, sport and many other national and international events.

Stamp collecting is a fascinating and educational hobby, for adults and children alike.  Emirates Post provides special services for philatelists in the UAE.

How to collect stamps?

There are no hard and fast rules for stamp-collecting. You may choose to collect stamps from a particular country. Alternatively, you may decide to collect stamps that depict a particular topic such as football or rare animals. The most important thing to remember is that stamp-collecting should be fun!

There are numerous books and websites that will provide valuable information about the hobby of stamp-collecting. Read as much as you can to learn about the history of stamp-collecting; understand stamp-collecting terminology; decide what tools you require to help with your new-found hobby and discover how the value of a stamp can change depending on the condition and the rarity of the stamp.
